For the past year we have watched the systems that prioritized efficiency over resiliency shake apart. We have seen Americans polarized as never before. Yet I still fundamentally believe that even in these difficult times, and perhaps because of them, that America will find it’s way home. Over the next few months I am going to hitting the road with my family to reconnect to this land through stories. To show my son for himself, that despite what the media might tell us, we don’t need to fear each other if we take the time to know each other. We will be traveling from our home in Washington DC to seek understanding the best way I know how, connecting with my fellow humans. I will be looking for stories of those that are helping bring the about the transformations our hearts know is possible, those that are helping and healing in these times. I believe that regardless of the stories those that would have us believe otherwise, Americans are INDIVISIBLE and that it’s times like these that give us the chance to heal our relationships to each other and the land itself. We will be sharing these journeys here, and over at @indivisible.us
. I am sharing here images of my friend @kgrina
who runs @uptopacres
to show just what I mean. Kristof has turned a collection of rooftops here in Washington DC into one of the largest urban rooftop farms in the country. He is out there on the hottest DC days planting, growing and nurturing this world. Day by day, seed by seed, he is making the change he wants to see in this world. He cares deeply about our city, this country and our shared future. These are the type of stories that fill my heart and my cup. If you have one to tell, or know someone who does, please feel free to reach out to me. As fir our route….we will be heading North through the Mid atlantic than headed west through the northern states to Montana, Idaho and then down the West Coast and the back through the Southwest, Colorado and the midwest..but as all things, it will change as we journey. Big ❤️.
